The U.S. has 30-40 million cats, and 70% of cats in shelters are euthanized. Mary Anne Sheehan self-published the Super Kitty book to share the experience of adopting her rescue cat, Ginger. This podcast is designed to inform the public and provide awareness through guest interviews so the public can decide to adopt/rescue a cat or kitten. Season 1 of Super Kitty Podcast includes six guests sharing their unique perspectives of companionship and how the cats enrich each owner's life. A portion of the proceeds from these six interviews will benefit the Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS) and the Caffeinated Cat Cafe (501)c3, who do the work of housing, feeding, and caring for these animals 24-7. Well, welcome to the Super Kitty Podcast. Also the title of my book, I wrote this book to educate people and families about a recent adoption that I made. Ginger is her real name, AKA super kitty. The book is not only from my perspective, but also from Ginger's perspective. Super kitty podcast has six episodes where host Maryanne Shehan, author of super kitty interview, special guests who take part in finding loving homes and treatment for these wonderful animals. Some people look at these cats and they think they're aliens, or they think they're bizarre. I look at these cats and I think they are precious, adorable, and I became an Avid sphinx fan. These podcasts are designed to not only inform our public as well as ourselves also to raise awareness that there are many 5 0 1 C three S out there that really do rescue all kinds of pets. What have been the benefits for you in your life? Bringing cats into your home, just the love that they give you. They give you a sense of purpose, cuz you have something to care for. They have a lot of personality. We do have a program called positive reading studies have shown that listening to people, reading out loud, lowers stress levels in animals and animal shelters can be very scary, very stressful places. So at the Jacksonville humane society, we try to do everything we possibly can to make the animals stays as happy, as comfortable as possible while they're with us.
